(p for non-inferiority < 0.001)
ABSORB STEMI TROFI II Trial design: Patients with STEMI were randomized, after partial establishment of coronary flow, to an everolimus-eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS) (n = 95) vs. an everolimus-eluting metal stent (n = 96). (p for non-inferiority < 0.001) Results Healing score at 6 months: 1.74 in the BVS group vs in the metal stent group (p for noninferiority < 0.001, p for superiority = 0.053) CV death, MI, or revascularization: 1.1% in the BVS group vs. 0% in the metal stent group The one event in the BVS group was due to stent thrombosis 2.80 1.74 Conclusions Among individuals with STEMI, implantation of a BVS resulted in nearly complete vessel healing, which was noninferior to the everolimus-eluting metal stent Metal stent group BVS Presented by Dr. Patrick Serruys at ESC 2015
