In the previous four weeks, we have been looking at the subject of the Holy Spirit.
1. The Doctrine of Holy Spirit
2. Holy Spirit and Jesus.

4. The gifts of the Holy Spirit.

3. Fruit of the Spirit
Today we are going to look at life in Spirit and the Result of the life in Spirit (Fruit of the Spirit) .The life in flesh and its Result.
[Gal. 5:16 -25]

4. Paul Emphasizes that
Holy Spirit can keep us truly free.
Paul mentions seven times Holy Spirit by Name.
1. Our sanctifier who alone can oppose and subdue our flesh.
2. Enable us to fulfill the Law, so that we are delivered.
3. Cause the fruit of Righteousness to grow in the lives. V.22.23

5. CHRISTIAN CONFLICT
“THE FLESH” AND
“THE SPIRIT”

6. The Flesh
By the flesh Paul means that we are in nature and inheritances our fallen condition. The flesh stand for what we are by natural Birth.
The Spirit
He means the Holy Spirit Himself who renews and regenerates us, first giving us a new nature and then remaining to dwell in us. The Spirit, what we become by new Birth, the Birth of the Spirit.
Let us look at the kind of the behavior to which the two natures are prone.

7. The work of the Flesh.Vv19-21
They are oblivious to all the Lust of the flesh is not only the sins of flesh but the Sinful desires of our fallen Nature. Let us look at the List. It Belongs to at least four Realms.
1: The Realm of sex:
Immorality, Impurity, Licentiousness V-19 all sexual 0ffenses, Public and Private, Between Married and Unmarried, Natural or unnatural are works of the flesh.

8. 2: The Realm of Religion
Idolatry, Sorcery V-20 idolatry Offense against God and our Neighbor (Sorcery).

9. 3: The Realm of Society : V-20.
Quarrels, Contentions Temper, Envy, Rage, Selfish ,
Ambition, Dissensions, Party Intrigues, Jealousies.

10. They shall not inherit The Kingdom of

Drunkenness, Carousing. v-21. warning
They shall not inherit The Kingdom of
GOD.

11. Love Now we have Nine Christian graces which seems to Portray
a Christians attitude to God, To other people
and to Himself.
1: Our Attitude toward God.(Love ,Joy, Peac)
Joy in God Peace with God
Love

12. 2: Attitude towards Man: (Patience, Kindness, Goodness ).
Patience is long suffering toward those who aggravate or persecute.
Kindness is a question of disposition.
Goodness of word and deeds.

13. (Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self control)
3. Attitude toward Himself:
(Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self control)
Faithfulness, describe the reliability of a Christian man.
Gentleness is that humble meekness which Christ Exhibited.
Self control , Faithfulness and Gentleness Both are aspect of
Self control.
The Fruit of the Spirit the Natural Produce that appears
in the live of Spirit-led Christians .

14. (A)We must crucify the Flesh and walk by the Spirit .

We must crucify the Flesh:
It is deliberating putting
to death how we should
crucify the old Nature.
Rejection of His old Nature is to be Pitiless.
Rejection of old
Nature will be painful.
Rejection of the old Nature is to be Decisive.

15. We must walk By the Spirit:
We must be led by the Spirit.
It involves desires to hear, redness to obey God’s word and discern between Prompting of the Holy Spirit and feelings.
We must walk By the Spirit v-18
In involves in the First place. It is the Holy Spirit who leads us we just follow. as our
leader Holy Spirit takes initiative. While following Holy Spirit,
We need to walk actively in the Holy Spirit v-25.
Actively follow Him in all Areas of our lives. Spirit dwells in me.
So think of the things which are above.

16. Let us
crucify the old Nature
and
walk in Spirit.
