1 Zirconia – Alumina – Metal Primer

2 BISCO’s Z-PRIME Plus is a single-component priming agent used to create adhesion between indirect restorative materials and all resin containing cements.

3 Z-PRIME Plus - A proprietary Formula of concentrated MDP/Carboxylate monomers has been specifically formulated to address the current weakness in competitor’s primers and create a compelling reason to replace them immediately!

Product Applications Components Z-PRIME™ Plus Bisco Zirconia, Alumina, Metal Silica-ceramics Zirconia, Alumina, Metal, Silica-ceramics BPDM, Phosphate, Ethanol Silane Phosphate, Silane* Porcelain Primer Bisco Monobond Plus Ivoclar Vivadent Clearfil Ceramic Kuraray *: Silane is not stable in the presence of acidic phosphate monomer.

5 Issue of Silane Incorporation into Zirconia Primers
Silane Primer Zirconia/Silane Primer Porcelain Primer Bisco Monobond Plus Ivoclar Vivadent Clearfil Ceramic Kuraray Contain: Silane Contain: Silane & Acidic Phosphate pH Self-Condensation of Hydrolyzed Silane Silane Methacrylate Pre-hydrolyzed Silane De-activation of Silane To maintain a good shelf-life, pH of one-bottle silane primer systems should be adjusted to 4-5.

6 Z-PRIME Plus Indications For Use
BISCO’s Z-PRIME™ PLUS is intended for use as a surface treatment for the following indirect restoration substrates: Zirconia (e.g. Lava, Cerec, Implant & others) Alumina (e.g. Procera) Metal/alloy (Titanium, PFM, Non-Precious, High Noble) Composite (Direct & Indirect) Endodontic Posts (Zirconia, Metal, Fiber) Intra-oral repairs

7 Primer Effect on Bond Strength of Resin Cements to Zirconia
Using the new primer had a significant effect on increasing the bond strength to zirconia of the tested cements between 86% and 160%  increase. G. MILLAN, M. RAAD, M. ATTAR, and D. NATHANSON, Primer Effect on Bond Strength of Resin Cements to Zirconia, J Dent Res 89(Spec Issue A): Abstr. 1018, 2010

24 New zirconia primer improves bond strength of resin-based cements.
“Improved marginal adaptation, prevention of microleakage, increased fracture strength, and increased retention in situations where mechanical retention does not exist constitute the benefits of a stable and durable resin bond to zirconia.” Magne P, et al. New zirconia primer improves bond strength of resin-based cements. Dent Mater (2009), doi: /j.dental New zirconia primer improves bond strength of resin-based cements.

25 New zirconia primer improves bond strength of resin-based cements.
“The groups where the experimental zirconia primer (ZrP-groups) was used presented the highest mean bond strength values.” “The groups that did not receive the experimental primer (NP groups) and the group treated with the MDP-containing primer (CCP-group) presented the lowest mean bond strength values” Magne P, et al. New zirconia primer improves bond strength of resin-based cements. Dent Mater (2009), doi: /j.dental

26 “Confidence in Adhesion”
Proprietary MDP and carboxylic acid monomers Significantly enhances bond strengths of other resin cements* Compatible with light-cured and dual-cured resin luting cement Convenient, single bottle delivery offers ease of dispensing Fast/Predictable Cementation *Data on file, BISCO, Inc.
