OHS – Functional Description 1(2)
The OHS group is the expertise unit at ESS for OHS issues, responsible for stimulating risk assessment culture in compliance with regulations and internal rules regarding all work environment issues for staff, users and visitors. Development of rules, procedure & guidelines Electrical Chemical Fire & Explosive Equipment safety (lifts, rotating machines, cranes)

Supporting the installation of the accelerator, target and the neutron scattering instruments made by ESS and its in-kind partners by providing expertise in risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk control Establish the rules & procedures for fire and rescue response procedures Emergency Preparedness Program OHS Committee

Status OHS at site 1(2) Four buildings have been handed over from SEC to ESS, i.e. ESS are in charge of the installation for these buildings Partial access have been given in one building Electrical Safety Permanent installation HV Grid; Electrical Operational Leader (EOL) - CF ESS Machinery installation; EOL – ESH Temporary installation EOL – Skanska Maskin Identified a need of having one common package of rules for the whole site Working group between ESH and CF/SEC

Electrical Safety ESS - Overall Person responsible for an Electrical Installation Ralf Trant ESS Grid Person responsible for an Electrical Installation (20 kV, 6 kV & 0,4 kV) Kent Hedin ESS – EL ESS - Person responsible for an Electrical Installation Jörgen Mattsson ESS LTH Teststand Nominated person in control of an electrical installation during work activities, EOL Mats Lindroos Nominated person in control of an electrical installation during work activities, EOL Buildings/Areas at site and other ESS areas Nominated person(s) in control of an electrical installation during work activities, EOL

Status OHS at site 2(2) Fire & Explosive Safety
Same plan (same staff) are used as for the other parts of ESS ESH participates at the weekly safety rounds (the whole site) Weekly coordination meeting
