1. Why do we Study the Bible?
Is Bible Class important?
Is Wednesday night important?

2. Is Bible study important?
2 Timothy 2:15-16 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.  
John 6:68 But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

3. Is Bible study important?
Jesus words are of great importance.
If we want eternal life, we must know and believe the teaching of Jesus.
Let’s take a look at some reasons Bible Class is important.

4. Bible study is Commanded
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
We must handle the Word properly.
We must be able to give a reason for our hope, faith and practice.

5. Bible Study is our spiritual nourishment
What you ate only 1 meal a week?
Many are content to “feast” only one lesson per week. Why?
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.  
DO YOU HUNGR FOR THE WORD?

6. Bible Study Equips us to teach others
Hebrews 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

7. Bible Study Equips us to teach others
Our world still needs the milk and the meat of the Word.
People all around us still need to be taught the way of salvation.
BUT – We can not teach what we do not know.

8. Bible Study is the weapon against Satan
Jesus said “It is written”
We must learn to use this weapon with skill.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

9. Bible Study is the weapon against Satan
Ephesians 6:10-18 gives us a list of the armor for Christians
All of the armor is protective:
EXCEPT:
1. Sword of the Spirit – Word of God
2. Prayer

10. The Bible is all you will have on Judgment Day
You will not have the preacher or an elder or Bible class teacher
You will be on you own.
You will stand before God with your life, your faith, your knowledge of the Word.

11. The Bible is all you will have on Judgment Day
Acts 17:30-31 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,  31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
