11 Baptism of the Holy Spirit
“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2 The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ. Desire of Ages p. 805

12 Baptism of the Holy Spirit “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2
The Missionary’s Pattern “He who is actuated by the love of Jesus will see in every soul, whether rich or poor, a value that cannot be computed, in comparison with which the world sinks into insignificance. Oh, the love that God has revealed for, the soul is infinite, beyond estimation! He who is a partaker of the divine nature will love as Christ loved; he will work as Christ worked, and will manifest sympathy and compassion. He will not fail nor be discouraged.

13 Baptism of the Holy Spirit “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2
This love can exist and be kept pure and refined and elevated only by continual communion with Jesus Christ. All coldness and hardness of heart will pass away from those who come into the sunshine of Christ's presence; and those who abide in him, and let him abide in them, will naturally, willingly obey his injunction, "Love one another as I have loved you.“ Ellen G. White, Signs of the Times, March 19, 1894.

14 Baptism of the Holy Spirit “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2
In Summation What is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? 1. Through the death of Jesus we receive justification. That is His gift to us. We thank Him for this. 2. Through His Life we are saved. Because of what His death has accomplished we can receive His marvellous Life Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We thank Him for this. 3. Through the Holy Spirit His life is imparted to us to empower us for ministry. It is Christ’s ministry that is continued on earth in and through us by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to bring glory to Jesus and the Father. We thank Him for this.

15 Baptism of the Holy Spirit “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2
Where to From here? Come to the Cross 1. Choosing to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and what that means to me. Claiming all His benefits and praising Him for the benefits, we have in Jesus Christ. Rom 6:11 Count/consider ourselves to be dead to sin and alive in Jesus Christ. This is a faith Statement based on an established fact. This has nothing to do with how I feel. Here is an example “Thank you , Father, that I don’t have to spend today in ignorance of Your love, because You have demonstrated Your love towards me in sacrificing Your son to die in my stead, and I want to rejoice in that love today, Thank You.”

16 Baptism of the Holy Spirit “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed?” Acts 19:2
2. Praise God for the promise of the Holy Spirit and give Him permission to bring His life into us for another day. He will bring His mind into us that is, His thoughts, His Feelings, His motives.  3. Establish habits that will support this: Speaking about it to others For at least 63 days. (It takes that long for a habit to be established until it’s automatic) It’s important have an accountability partner.
