2 Outside of ‘Big Windows’ solutions Windows is a dead-end for mobile computers supporting warehouse applications. David Krebs, VDC Research Modern Materials Handling, Top 20 Automatic Data Capture Suppliers, Dec 2017 This is a big quote from VDC, but the data is all out there, so it isn’t a surprise. Look across the rugged device landscape and even vendors who are releasing new Windows devices are offering them on Android as well – because they know you’re going to need to be there in the next few years.

3 What does this mean for enterprise systems?
Windows may be a “dead end”, but your enterprise systems are working just fine. So, just because the mobile device platform is changing, it can’t disrupt the systems you have in place and depend on.

4 Over the last two decades, our browser solutions for Windows mobile deployments have branched out to meet specific unique needs. Then, we’ve gone out and acquired Naurtech, which offered further options for the Windows world. So, the obvious question for us and our customers was: How do we take the bowser solution we use for Windows, and migrate to Android?

5 HTML/CSS inserts Advanced scan handling Scripting & key macros Custom
keyboard maps Voice-enabled browser apps Fast rendering web pages Post-processing support SSL security Think of all the functionalities you’ve depended on in your Windows mobile apps. Across our Browser solutions, you’ve depended on powerful tools and controls like the ones shown here. What we’ve done with Velocity, is consolidated our browser solutions into a single product as you move to Android.

6 From Windows to Android
Full screen rendering!

7 Scanner controls Device-specific settings Data parsing Advanced scanning parameters Velocity gives you device-specific control over a whole bunch of scanning parameters and settings. You can also define how decoded data is parsed out or otherwise handled.

8 Scripts and Automation
Key macros Eliminate redundant tasks Browser post-processing Automate multiple key sequences so that a single button-press can substitute for what had been several key strokes. This is especially relevant for those FUNCTION keys. You can also run scripts to eliminate redundant steps in a workflow. Plus, run post-processing with Meta-tags, or IDA or WLS tags.

9 Apps render across screens
Your web-based enterprise systems weren’t designed for mobile device screens. Inject custom HTML and CSS to improve rendering of apps designed for desktops, so they’re optimized for Android device screens. Screens will present properly across screen resolutions, size, and portrait/landscape orientation.

10 Multi-Session Support for Web Apps
Flexibility doesn’t stop with support for different screen sizes. Velocity lets workers make multiple connections to your web applications, simultaneously. This allows them to multi-task, look up info across enterprise systems, etc. to get their job done.

11 Voice: Ingredient Data Capture
Complementary input Device-side solution Fast deployment No network changes No host system changes Add voice to your web apps and watch workers speed through tasks. With their hands free, they’ll be able to pick faster, and handle a number of other tasks in your warehouse or on your retail floor.

12 Independently Certified
Some device manufacturers choose to perform a layer of additional testing to ensure applications are 100% compatible with their devices. Zebra has independently validated the Velocity Android Browser in their Solution Validation Lab, confirming the interoperability of Zebra devices, running Velocity, to work with your web-based enterprise systems. This certification is over and above Zebra’s decision to use Velocity as the telnet migration solution they have re-branded “All-Touch Terminal Emulation” or “All-Touch TE”.

13 Velocity is your Android Browser
