Big data and predictive analytics are being successfully used by some firms in the commercial sector, but AFMC and the USAF are not using big data and predictive analytics to the fullest extent on USAF fleets.

A CASS-environment with big data and predictive analytics would enhance Cost-Effective Readiness (CER) by finding potential drivers of down-time and enabling mitigation efforts before the aircraft is actually grounded
TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION
KC-46 PO has procured a government-owned, Fleet Management Tool (FMT) to include both an architectural design to house “big data” – AND – predictive analytics capability to mine the data and find patterns previously assumed to be random “noise”. As applied in the KC-46 PO, we can leverage their concepts and construct and apply to other fleets for the good of the USAF and DoD
