3 Reptiles As animals evolved from fish to amphibians, some moved on to being reptiles

4 Thick Skin Reptiles have thick dry skin that prevents water from escaping the body Reptiles must drink water and breath air into lungs

5 Body Temperature Most reptiles are ectothermes
Ectothermes – An animal that cannot control its body temperature

6 Eggs Reptile eggs are called amniotic eggs
These eggs are surrounded by a hard shell and contain yolk These eggs will not dry out

8 Reptiles There are 4 types of reptiles: Turtles/Tortoses, Snakes, Lizards and Tuataras

9 Turtles and Tortoises Generally, tortoises live on land while turtles live mostly in water
