2. What is a Fraction?
When a whole thing is divided into 4 equal parts it is a fraction. It has two parts numerator and denominator.

3. Example Consider a cake .
When cut into two equal parts, the fraction of each part is 1 / 2
1 – part of the whole you have
2 – Total parts

4. Example
When the cake is cut into 4 equal parts, the fraction of each part would be 1 / 4.
1 – part of the whole you have
2 – Total parts
