2. A is for Altercation
Altercation is a noisy argument or disagreement, especially in public.
Two-Bit took a long drag on his cigarette, Johnny slouched and hooked his thumbs in his pockets, and I stiffened. We can look meaner than anything when we want to--- looking tough comes in handy. Two-Bit put his elbow on Johnny's shoulder. "Who you callin' bums?" (p. 39)

3. B is for Blade
A Blade is a the flat cutting edge of a knife, saw, or other tool or weapon.
The Socs and Greasers carry blades with them. The beginning of chapter 1 starts with a blade being held to Ponyboy’s throat.
"Need a haircut, greaser?" The medium-sized blond pulled a knife out of his back pocket and flipped the blade open.” (p. 5)

5. Instructions:
You and your partner will evaluate the text and create an A to Z presentation about The Outsiders and then present it orally to the class.
Each slide of your presentation should include a word in the title that corresponds to that letter in the alphabet (A is for _____), an explanation of the word, evidence from the text exemplifying that explanation, and an appropriate image.
Include a “Sources Cited” page for pictures and definitions.
