Analysis of Survey Results North East ISD Parent & Community Feedback Survey I have an opportunity to present the further analysis of the results of the parent & community feedback survey.

2 Purpose of the survey What do parents value the most?
What could the District be offering that it is not currently? Before I present the results of the survey, I’d like to describe the intent of the survey. The district wants to know what parents value the most in the following categories: Academic Offerings College & Career Initiatives Parent & Community Involvement School Safety Staff & Facilities Student Services The next inquiry was open text – to give parents an opportunity to provide additional feedback for what could the district offer that it is not currently. 02/21/2019 Working Copy

On a scale from 0-10, how likely are you to recommend NEISD to someone you know? Parent familiarity with district offerings Student extracurricular participation Communication and social media preferences Ranking of items within categories Ranking of overall categories Open-ended question: What would you like to see offered or expanded at NEISD? 02/21/2019 Working Copy

4 Survey Invitations & responses
5,623 Responses 1,188 Web & Social Media Responses The initial was sent to 56,129 parents. Out of the 56,129 s sent, we had 5,600 responses to the survey which yields about a 10% response rate-. There were about 8,000 parent s missing. The district was unable to send s to parents who had not updated their contact information through the new data management system. We only needed 3800 to achieve a high confidence level. Initial sent November 6. One reminder sent November 15 (a week and a half later). The first survey was distributed via to parents. The survey to elicit community feedback was distributed through the district website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Respondents included current parents, former parents, and community members. Employees likely also responded to the survey. 8 How often do Parents visit Our campus and district websites?
The survey respondents visit the campus websites more than the District website. 31% of parents visit campus websites at least once a week while 24% of parents visit District websites at least once a week. 2 3 1 As I mentioned before, parents ranked items within the categories to provide feedback in what they value the most. Just a recap of what the overall categories are: Academic Offerings----(AP/Dual Credit/On Ramps; STEAM; Fine Arts; GT; SPED; Foreign Languages; Hyper-Accelerated Math; Dual Language; Athletics Classes; Pre-K) College & Career Initiatives---- (Ability to earn college credits; CTE classes; Magnet programs; Ability to Graduate Early) Parent & Community Involvement----(Family specialists; Watch DOGs; Volunteer opportunities; PTA; Adult & Community Education) School Safety----(Bullying prevention; Metal detectors; Front entrance security; Resolution of discipline incidents; Police officer presence) Staff & Facilities----(Class sizes; Quality of administration; Quality of athletics centers; Diversity of staff; Quality of teachers; Quality of school facilities) Student Services----(After school programs; School choice; Availability of transportation; SEL; Cafeteria menu options; Counseling services; Health services) Parents were then asked to rank the overall categories as well to determine what was most important to them 1 being the most important: Staff & Facilities was ranked most important then School Safety then Academic offerings. Quality of teachers Ability to earn college credits Class sizes AP/Dual Credit/OnRamps Quality of administration STEAM Bullying prevention Social-Emotional Learning Across both the parent and community ( and web/social) responses, the overall categories of staff and facilities, school safety, and academic offerings were ranked as most important. Looking across the items ranked within the overall categories, these are the topics that can be viewed as the most important. Quality of Teachers – important in all clusters and all levels (95% of respondents ranked it important) Class sizes were important across all levels, but slightly more important for elementary parents. Quality of Admin – important in all clusters and all levels (81% of respondents ranked it important) Bullying prevention was slightly more important for middle school parents. Ability to earn college credits and AP/Dual Credit/OnRamps was less important to elementary parents. levels (91% (Ability to earn College Credits), 72% (AP/Dual Credit/OnRamps) of respondents ranked it important) STEAM and SEL were the most important to elementary parents.
