DAVIDS REAL BATTLE WAS AN INTERNAL ONE

2 Samuel 5:10-13

2 Samuel 5:10-13a 10So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him. 11Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house.

12So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel. 13 And David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron.

14  "When you come to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, 'I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,' 15  you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16  But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the LORD has said to you, 'You shall not return that way again.' 17  Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself. Deuteronomy 17:14-17 (NKJV)

The king was forbidden to do three things:
Deuteronomy 17:14-17   The king was forbidden to do three things: 1.  He was not to accumulate horses. 2.  He was not to accumulate wives. 3.  He was not to accumulate gold and silver.

2 Samuel 12:8 (NKJV) 8 I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more!

“We are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, Against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. Ephesians 6:13-20 NLT

15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:13-20 NLT

We want to keep kids busy with positive things. If you don’t give them things to do, somebody else will.

Psalm 51:10-12 (ESV) 10  Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. 11  Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. 12  Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
