3. The MMRT consists of volunteers who do the job that no one else wants to do.

4. We recover and take care of the remains of the deceased victims after catastrophic disasters and mass fatality incidents.

5. We do this job because we believe that every victim, living and dead, deserves to be treated with the utmost care and respect and to be reunited with their families as soon as possible.

6. Anyone interested in joining the Mississippi Mortuary Response Team is urged to submit an application along with a resume that addresses your qualifications for the team position you are considering.

All members must also complete certain training courses. This includes basic NIMS and ICS courses which can be taken online.

8. Other required courses are offered at various times in classroom settings and include Mass Fatality Incident Response (G-386) and Psychological First Aid.

9. Team members are also expected to participate in various team trainings and exercises that are scheduled periodically.

10. These exercises allow team members to become acquainted with the equipment and operating procedures of the MMRT.
