1 Jesus’ work is done

2 2 Peter 1:3-4 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature. ESV

3 Ephesians 1:17-20 17 (praying) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ. ESV

4 Old creature vs. new creature
Old creature prayers are designed to get God to do something we want him to do. We beg God, persuade, and make deals. “God, could you take care of this list?”

5 God will not do for you what you can do for yourself.

6 Old creature prayers ask God to do what He’s already done
Old creature prayers ask God to do what He’s already done. Us: “Be with us.” God: “I am.” Us: “Go with us.” God: “I’m right here.”

7 Old creature: “God send your healing. ” God: “Already did
Old creature: “God send your healing.” God: “Already did.” Old creature: “I beg you.” God: “Receive it by faith.”

8 If jesus was still here Jesus did what God would do if he were a man walking around on earth. We are suppose to do what Jesus would do if he walked on earth today. He’s here in another body, his church.

9 Ephesians 1:20-21 (God) seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. ESV

10 Ephesians 2:6 6 …and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. ESV

11 Colossians 3:1-2 Since you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. ESV

12 New creature language This is new creature language. Paul is expecting church folks to realize their new creature position in Christ, and then pray from that position. So our new creature status teaches us to pray from Heaven to earth, not from earth to Heaven.

13 New creature prayer “God, I thank you that everything I need for life and godliness has already been provided through Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension. I understand grace has been given to impart everything that Jesus has provided for me.”

14 A new creature acknowlegement
“God I am a new covenant believer. I am standing on all the covenant promises that belong to me through Jesus’ shed blood. They exist for me now, not in the future, and I access them by faith. Thank you for what you have accomplished for me, and what you are doing in this present moment through Your grace, and Your power.”

15 New creature declarations
“I have everything that pertains to life and godliness.” “You surround me with your favor.” “You go before me in battle.” “You are for me, not against me.” “You are working all things out for my good.” “You are the giver of every good and perfect gift.” “Wisdom, favor, honor, belong to me.” “I am more than a conqueror.”

16 Declarations continued
“The same life that was in Jesus is in me.” “I am anointed, filled, favored, equipped, forgiven, gifted, declared righteous, worthy, chosen, filled with love, and seated with Christ in heavenly places.” “I am commissioned and authorized to continue the ministry of Christ on the earth.
