An inconsistent prayer life is a function of a lack of desire, time, and/or discipline.
Satan seeks to block our prayers through:
Lack of Faith
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. – Heb. 11:6
Wrong Motives
You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. - James 4:3

Unconfessed / Unrepentant Sin
Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.- Isaiah 59:1-2

Unforgiveness

God’s will is what He determines will happen.
