2. Strong Advice For All Christians
Paul wrote two letters to a young preacher named Timothy.
In those letters he mixed messages of strong advice and solid doctrinal teachings.
We can see in those challenges great encouragement and a solid plan for maturing in our faith into capable, worthy tools in the hands of God.

Let’s explore three powerful endeavors which will help mold us into capable workers for God.

4. Endeavors In The Word
Paul challenged Timothy to be proficient in the word of God.
2 Timothy 1:13 – Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

5. Endeavors In Holy Living
Paul challenged Timothy to guard his life and example.
1 Timothy 4:16 – “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.”

6. 2 Timothy 3:10-12
Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance, persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me! Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

7. 1 Timothy 6:11-12
But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
Contrasted with those who are deprived, depraved, and greedy.

8. Endeavors In Christian Ministry
Paul challenged Timothy to serve faithfully as a minister to the Lord.
2 Timothy 2:2 – “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
2 Timothy 4:5 – “But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

9. Endeavors For The Lord
The Lord needs us all to remain sharp and useful in His hands.
We must remain alert, ready, skillful in the things of God.
