Lesson 15: We do not follow Cleverly Devised Myths.(II Peter 1:12-21) “Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.” -- II Peter 1:3

2 I am reminding you while I can (II Peter 1:12-15)
Peter is reminding them even though they knew them already. They were established in the truth. He felt the need to “stir” them up. He wanted them to remember after he died.

3 We saw these things. We didn’t make it up!(II Peter 1:16-18)
We did not follow cleverly devised tales. Vs.16. We were eyewitnesses of His majesty! Vs Peter, James and John saw Jesus transfigured Matthew 18:1-8; Mark 9:2-7; Luke 9:28-36. They heard the voice from heaven. Consider John 19:35; 20:30-31; 21:24-25.

4 Pay attention to Prophecies from God!(II Peter 1:19-21)
Prophecies are reliable and well established. Pay attention to them as to a lamp in a dark room. The prophets did not invent them, but were inspired by the Holy Spirit The fulfillment of prophecies prove they originated with God and weren’t just made up.
