Warm Up A 2005 survey of 1000 randomly selected adults asked their most favorite and least favorite subjects in school. The most popular choice in both categories was math! 23% chose math as their favorite while 37% chose math as their least favorite. Construct a 90% confidence interval for the proportion of adults who feel math is their most favorite subject.

Practice Find t* using both Table B and the InvT command on your graphing calculator. 1) 90% confidence level and n = 15 2) 96% confidence level and n = 25 3) 99% confidence level and n = 45 4) 98% confidence level and n = 70

Example Imagine we took a sample of 30 randomly selected students here at Leland and measured the amount of time they spent on homework on a given night. The sample data is: Mean = 2.05 hours Std dev = 0.75 hours Construct a 95% confidence interval for the value of m, the mean time that all Leland students spend on homework.

Practice A 2014 survey conducted at Baylor University found that 164 randomly selected undergraduates spent an average of 528 minutes on their cell phones on a daily basis. The standard deviation was 163 minutes. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the value of m, the mean time undergraduate students at Baylor spend on their cell phones per day.

Practice The following data is the egg weight (in grams) for a random sample of 10 eggs taken from the same farm (Indian Journal of Poultry Science, 2009). If possible, use this data to construct a 90% confidence interval for the value of m, the mean weight of all eggs from the farm
