4 Graph Hyperbolas Hyperbola
A hyperbola is the set of points in a plane, the difference of whose distances from two fixed points, called the foci, is a constant. For every point on the hyperbola, the difference M – N is the same constant.

5 Graph Hyperbolas A hyperbola has two vertices. The vertices are the points where the graph crosses the x- or y-axes. The point halfway between two vertices is the center of the hyperbola. The line through the vertices is called the transverse axis.
