WG C Reporting Sheets GWD Andreas Scheidleder Philippe Quevauviller Ljubljana – 22 April 2008 European Commission - DG Environment Unit D.2: Water and Marine

2 Reporting Sheets Introduction, Principles
RBMP is the core element of the WFD Everything required by the WFD is part of the RBMP  Reporting Sheets 2010 (RBMP) Drafted by & commented via WG D ‚Reporting‘ When all the reporting sheets are agreed, they will be consolidated and presented in a single reporting guidance document

3 Reporting Sheets 2010 Reporting
GWB1 Identification/Delineation of GWBs GWPI1 Summary of Pressure Types Causing GWB to Fail Good Status GWPI2 Identification of GWB at Risk GWPI3 Significant Point Source Pollution to Groundwaters GWPI4 Significant Diffuse Source Pollution in Groundwater GWPI5 Significant Groundwater Abstractions GWPI6 Significant Artificial Groundwater Recharge GWPI7 Significant Saltwater or Other Intrusion GWPI8 Other Pressures on GW not covered by Other Reporting Sheets GWPI9 Summary Assessment of the Human Impacts on GWBs GWPI10 Further Characterisation – Summary Information GWPI11 Uncertainties and Data Gaps RPA1 Register of protected areas GIS Geographical Information Requirements POM 1 Summary of steps and mesures taken to meet the Art 11 requirements GWO1 Classification systems established for groundwater GWO2 Use of exemptions in groundwater GWM2 Results of GW monitoring programmes (Status of GWB)

4 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
GWO1 and GWM2 not completely covering all reporting requirements of the GWD Proposed Reporting sheet covering GW status reporting the establishment of groundwater TVs and the summary of the methodological information linked to the selection of pollutants/indicators and the setting of the values. the reporting of chemical status and the methodology to classify status identification of upward trends and trend reversal Replacement of GWO1 and GWM2

5 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
Geographic information Map 1: Achievement/exceedance of good quantitative status; Map 2: Achievement/exceedance of “good chemical status” for nitrates Map 3: Achievement/exceedance of “good chemical status” for pesticides Map 4: Achievement/exceedance of “good chemical status” based on national thresholds for other pollutants (considering Annex II substances); Map 5: Identification of significant and sustained upward trend Identification of trend reversal.

6 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
Data collection: Chemical status

7 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
Quantitative status Information on the quantitative status (good/poor) if the GWB is identified at poor status The reason(s) for failing good quantitative status Multi-selection of reasons - picklist Information on the risk of failing good quantitative status objectives by 2015 (Y/N)

8 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
Summary text - On the establishment of TVs: Brief summary (< 5000 characters) of the way the procedure set out in Annex I Part A of the GWD has been followed. Brief summary (< 2000 characters) of the relationship of TVs and NBG levels for naturally occurring substances. Brief summary (< 2000 characters) of the relationship of TVs and EQ objectives and other standards for water protection that exist at national, EC or international level. On the assessment of groundwater chemical and quantitative status: Brief summary (< 5000 characters): Description of the methodology for assessing groundwater chemical status. Explanation as to the manner in which exceedances of GW-QS or TVs at individual monitoring points have been taken into account in the final assessment. Brief summary (< 5000 characters): Description of the methodology for assessing groundwater quantitative status.

9 Reporting Sheet Groundwater Directive
Summary text - On the assessment of trends and trend reversal: Brief summary (< 5000 characters) of the way in which the trend assessment at individual monitoring points has contributed to identifying that the body is subject to a significant and sustained upward trend. Brief summary (< 5000 characters) of the way in which the trend assessment at individual monitoring points has contributed to identifying that the body is subject to a trend reversal On the assessment of assessment of (expanding) plumes: Brief summary (< 5000 characters) of the results of the assessments of the impacts of existing plumes, in particular, verification that existing plumes do not expand, …. For transboundary groundwaters a brief summary (<5000) of the steps put in place to co-ordinate the objectives
