Volume 126, Issue 4, Pages 1024-1029 (April 2004)
Impact of acute hepatitis C virus superinfection in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection  Yun-Fan Liaw, Yi-Cheng Chen, I-Shyan Sheen, Rong-Nan Chien, Chau-Ting Yeh, Chia-Ming Chu  Gastroenterology  Volume 126, Issue 4, Pages (April 2004) DOI: /j.gastro

Figure 1 Comparison of the cumulative probability of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) clearance after the onset of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) or delta virus (HDV) superinfection and patients with active chronic hepatitis B (HBV). Note that the difference is significant only when compared between the HCV and the HBV group within 10 years. The cumulative HBsAg clearance rate in the HDV group and the HBV group exceeds that of the HCV group after 16 years follow-up, but the numbers of patients were small. Gastroenterology  , DOI: ( /j.gastro )

Figure 2 The cumulative probability of cirrhosis development after the onset of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) is significantly higher than that of matched patients with acute hepatitis delta virus (HDV) superinfection and a matched control group of active chronic hepatitis B (HBV). Gastroenterology  , DOI: ( /j.gastro )

Figure 3 The cumulative probability of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development after the onset of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) is higher than that of matched patients with acute hepatitis delta virus (HDV) superinfection at a marginally significant level but significantly higher than the matched control group of active chronic hepatitis B (HBV). Gastroenterology  , DOI: ( /j.gastro )
