3 Attendance, It Matters FACTS Chronic Absence=2 or more days per month
Poor attendance affects your grades and more Higher chances of dropping out of high school Excused absences hurt too Suspensions adds additional missed time in the classroom, which increases the dropout risk Absences and tardies can result in being placed on the exclusion list

4 How to improve attendance
Make sure you come to school on time Check your tardies on StudentVue Complete community service hours Attend Saturday School Dress out for P.E. Rewards and incentives for Perfect Attendance

5 Behavior RESPECT: means caring and treating others with kindness. By showing respect for others, property, the environment, and yourself, you will, in turn, earn the respect that you deserve! “The Golden Rule” Treating other the way you would want to be treated.

6 Behavior RESPECT your teachers, school staff and your peers
If your are DISRESPECTFUL you may get: Detention ISS A referral to counseling Discipline Referral and parent contact/meeting

7 Grades Do your homework and your classwork Attend tutoring regularly
Check your grades on StudentVue If you are in ASES, attend after school tutoring with you teachers Take pride in your grades Bad grades = no fun Attend Saturday school to fix an F It’s your grade, own it!

8 School Connectedness Join a club Show your pride
Be involved in extracurricular activities such as: sports, dances, social events Harvest Fest Turkey Bowl Student of the Month Trimester Rewards School dances YOU MUST BE PASSING YOUR CLASSES ALL TRIMESTERS, HAVE GOOD ATTENDANCE AND BEHAVIOR TO PARTICIPATE IN MANY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
