2 What are these students doing wrong?

3 Here are some lab safety rules that should always be followed:
Never go into a science laboratory without permission. Enter the room quietly and sit in your assigned seat.

4 Remain in your seat unless you are instructed to do so.
Do not play in the lab

5 Follow all rules and instructions. If you have any questions, ask!
Always check with your teacher before trying a new idea.

6 Make sure your lab area is clean before leaving!
Always wash your hands at the end of an experiment.

7 Do not eat or drink from the lab apparatus
Do not eat or drink from the lab apparatus. They may contain harmful substances. Never pick chemicals up with your fingers

8 Always wear safety goggles when testing or mixing chemicals.

9 Always have long hair tied back during an experiment
Always have long hair tied back during an experiment. Hair can catch fire!

10 Handle all apparatus with care
Handle all apparatus with care. Someone after you will need to use them too. Place all books, book bags and purses out of the way while doing labs.

11 Never use the gas or electricity unless told to do so.
Always report all accidents and breakages at once, even if they seem minor!

12 Lab Safety Quiz Where is the fire extinguisher located in this classroom? Where is the fire blanket located in this classroom? What should you do to your lab area before leaving? What should you do if you get hurt? What if it is only a tiny cut?
