How do we learn Tzanetopoulou Myrsini Triantafyllou Nasos

2 Early Years Babies are born ready to learn, and their brains develop through use. A child learns best by actively engaging with their environment. observing things listening to sounds exploring asking questions experimenting with textures doing things that stimulate all of their senses

3 Early years LIP MOVEMENT
A team of American psychologists carried out an experiment , testing babies’ powers of visual discrimination . English-speaking babies were shown silent video clips, in which the speakers read the same sentence in English and French. RESULT: They had noticed the language change, based only on lip movement.

4 Critical age of learning
Studies have shown that babies possess this ability at 4 to 6 months of age but lose it at the eighth month. It is believed that infants are initially sensitive to the properties of a wide range of languages. But without continued exposure, their sensitivities soon narrow to the range that is more relevant for their own language.
