Linkin Park Rocks!! This is Linkin Park. With its roots in southern California, Linkin Park is an alternative, metal quintet band, that includes an eclectic mix of old-school hip-hop, traditional classic rock, and spooling electronic vibes.

The group Members of the group are: drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarists Brad Delson, Phoenix Farrell and singers Mike Shinoda, Joseph Hahn and Chester Bennington. Their first album, "Hybrid Theory," came out in the fall of 2000 and has reached sales of 4 million copies, making it a quadruple platinum seller. In 2007 they did another album. It’s called, “Minutes to Midnight.”

Chester Bennington

CHESTER BENNINGTON Bennington was a vocalist in Grey Daze, a now-defunct grunge band from Phoenix, Arizona.[3] He is the lead vocalist. “It's easy to fall into that thing — 'poor, poor me', that's where songs like 'Crawling' come from: I can't take myself. But that song is about taking responsibility for your actions. I don't say 'you' at any point. It's about how I'm the reason that I feel this way. There's something inside me that pulls me down.”—Chester Bennington, Rolling Stone Magazine, 2002

CHESTER BENNINGTON At age 11 he made the jarring discovery that his parents and siblings were not in fact his blood relatives. This difficult reality was to be compounded over the next seven years by peer ridicule, sexual abuse and the untimely deaths of several of his friends. Like many who have had to deal with such issues, he turned to drugs and alcohol as a means of coping, becoming addicted to cocaine by the age of 18. An escape from this doomed course was finally made in 1996, when, with the help of a supportive partner (whom he married that same year), Bennington managed to overcome his chemical dependencies and began to turn his longtime musical ambitions into a working concern.

Mike Shinoda

Mike Shinoda As co-vocalist of rap-metal outfit Linkin Park -- owning the rapping skills to balance out Chester Bennington's tortured, emotional wail -- Mike Shinoda became one of the more recognizable faces of the nu metal scene in the early 2000s. He is another vocalists under Chester Born to a Japanese father and a Russian mother (who is reprotedly a distant decendant of composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky), Mike Shinoda was raised in the Los Angeles suburb of Agoura, where he resided for all of his pre-adult life.

After high school, Shinoda enrolled in the Art Center College of Design to study graphic design and illustration. Here he made the acquaintance of DJ Joseph Hahn, who, along with Delson's college-mate Dave Phoenix Farrell, was soon added to Xero's line-up. Shinoda eventually completed his college training with a degree in illustration, securing himself a job as a graphic designer right after graduation. It was just prior to this, in the final year of his studies, that the band (now called Hybrid Theory) brought in second vocalist Chester Bennington. Shinoda and his bandmates ultimately were to inflict themselves upon music consumers as Linkin Park. Mike Shinoda

Brad Delson

Brad Delson Brad Delson's future career was put on track in the 7th grade, which is when he met fellow aspiring musician and Southern California native Mike Shinoda. Delson has been sometimes criticized for playing simple guitar parts and never performing solos in Hybrid Theory and Meteora. He says that he "doesn't like to show off," giving reason to the fact that performing solos is a rare act for him. He has explained that this is due to the nature of the band, and that he tries to make his guitar playing sound like a keyboard or strings to try to fit in with the hip hop and electronica sounds of the band.

Brad Delson Brad Delson attended Agoura High School with childhood friend and Linkin Park bandmate Mike Shinoda. He played in various bands throughout his high school career, the most notable being Relative Degree, in which he met and teamed up with drummer Rob Bourdon. Originally a trumpet player, Delson had made the inevitable switch to guitar the previous year, another victim to the influence of that devil rock music. In collaboration with Shinoda he would develop his musical skills throughout high school.

Rob Bourdon

Rob Bourdon In the albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora, Bourdon's style was simplistic, mostly trying to fit the drumming into the sound of the band, with only "Easier to Run" from Meteora sounding very complex as Rob had to approach his drum playing style differently. In the latest Linkin Park album Minutes to Midnight Rob's drums had wooden bodies to sound more traditional, most notably a complex 3/4 drum pattern in "The Little Things Give You Away". In live shows, playing with the song "Bleed It Out", the song is extended with Rob playing a long solo.

Joseph Hahn

Joseph Hahn Joe joined Linkin Park, after meeting fellow band mate Mike Shinoda in art school, when the band was called Xero in 1996 as the band's turntablist. Joe Hahn focused his contributions on programming with his sound effects board and MIDI keyboard in Minutes to Midnight.

Phoenix Farrell

Phoenix Farrell His introduction to musical performance was largely provided by his mother, who taught him how to play the guitar. In his teens he became active with the local music scene, joining the Christian punk band Tasty Snax during his high school years; the band's name was later shortened to simply The Snax, and Farrell accordingly shortened his string count from six to four (although later sometimes making a halfway return up to five). After graduating from high school he enrolled at UCLA, where he ended up as the roommate of Brad Delson, a guitarist still active with his own high school band Xero. . His recording debut with Linkin Park was finally made in 2002 on the Reanimation remix album, to which he added performances on both vioin and cello.

Phoenix Farrell David Farrell was brought into the world in the historic East Coast town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, but was transplanted at the age of five to the historic West Coast town of Mission Viejo, California. In his absence Xero changed their name first to Hybrid Theory and then Linkin Park, sold themselves to Warner Brothers, recorded and released their multi-platinum debut Hybrid Theory (featuring some of Farrell's compositional input, but with bass duties being shared between Delson and Scott Koziol), and established themselves as one of the industry's leading corporate rock bands. This change in circumstances must have made it a matter of small effort for the band
