1 “The Theft Buster” Before you begin
The lessons in this course cover security principles for all Office programs. However, the practice sessions use Microsoft Word 2003 and Microsoft Excel You'll need to have these programs installed on your computer to complete the practice sessions. Lessons 2 and 3 in this course are also in the training course “Help secure and protect data in Excel.” [Note to trainer: For detailed help in customizing this template, see the last slide. Look for additional lesson text in the notes pane of some slides.]

2 About the “Theft Buster”
The “Theft Buster” is a new deterrent system designed to help eliminate crime through the use of motion detectors which are situated in a highly unique and unusual self contained enclosure unit. This unit is strategically placed in an area that typically draws high theft crimes such as new construction sites. The “Theft Buster” is highly effective in deterring potential burglars because of its unique design. Security in Office

3 How it works… The “Theft Buster” is installed at a frame stage before air conditioning ducts and the electrical pre-wiring is started. Once the “Theft Buster” is armed, it will begin deterring crime. The unit’s strobe lights will flash if an intruder enters the property or premise which then signals the motion detector to detect a violation in the are. A very loud voice command will sound from the speaker inside of the unit and warn the intruder. This voice command will continue for 3 minutes and then will reset itself once the intruder passes in front of the motion sensor again. This lesson discusses the password options available to you in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It also includes some basic guidelines on creating and using strong passwords. Security in Office

4 More about the “Theft Buster”
The “Theft Buster is powered at the temporary pole. If for some reason the power is removed, a back-up battery system will enable the unit to continue operation. This battery back-up system will have enough power to sustain the unit for several days. The “Theft Buster” can be armed and disarmed by a key switch or key pad. The main unit will be installed in a garage area. As an extra precaution, an additional second motion detector will be installed inside the property or premise to capture more areas. 5 Additional options for the “Theft Buster”
We also offer a few options which include a “cell back-up unit” which will call a monitoring center. The monitoring center will call authorized persons on your “call list” and dispatch the police if necessary. Another option is the “DVR Recorder” which will record any movement up to 72 hours. For more information and pricing, contact Pete Issokson at An important tip to remember: *You must have an alarm permit for the property or premise to enable police dispatch depending on which municipality the property is located. This information can be obtained by contacting the local police department.
