2 License renewal It is important to remember to renew the license before it expires. If not renewed for 3 years: must reapply and retake the vision screening written and road tests

3 License renewal It is the responsibility of the motorist to renew his/her license. When renewing a license, a motorist must bring expiring license completed renewal form 6 Points of ID Verification

4 License Updates Permit, non-driver ID and license updates
must be accurate. Changes and corrections should be reported to the MVC immediately (Address Changes) 1 week

5 License Updates Visit an MVC agency with 6 Points of ID Verification and proof of address change fee of $11 Name Changes must be reported to the MVC within two weeks A lost or stolen driver license or non-driver identification card should be reported to the police.

6 Disabled Drivers A disabled driver with handicapped plates and an exclusive handicapped placard displayed on the vehicle’s rear view mirror is needed to be able to park in handicapped designated parking spots.

7 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The MVC complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the policy that states government agencies cannot deny programs and activities to anyone because of disabilities.

8 Organ donation An individual’s decision to be an organ donor can make a difference in lives throughout New Jersey and across the nation. The shortage of donors is so severe that every day, 18 people die waiting for organs that could save their lives.

9 Organ donation If the individual is 18 years or older and agrees by saying yes, he/she is legally consenting to the donation of organs and tissue. This is an important decision to share with family.

10 Voter registration To expedite the voter registration process, the MVC sends voter registration applications with all driver license renewals and changes of address.

11 Maps Maps are used by motorists to guide them in their travels. The N.J. Department of Transportation publishes an official transportation map and guide for highways and public transit. It also contains useful tips on a wide array of cultural, recreational and historical attractions that make New Jersey special. To obtain a map, call (800) Jersey-7 ( ).

12 Maps Motorists should keep maps of their destinations in their vehicles and should know how to read them.
