3. C. C was one of the leading mathematicians of his time worldwide
C.C was one of the leading mathematicians of his time worldwide. He worked together with many famous mathematicians of his time such as Einstein, Minkowski, Hilbert, Klein, Schwarz, Fejer, Kritikos, Papakyriakopoulos, Stamatis and others

4. C.C. was born in Berlin from Greek parents ( his father was from Thrace and his mother from Chios ) but he grew up in Brussels. Since his childhood he was able to speak Greek, French, Turkish, and German fluently .

5. During his time at high school he won twice the first prize as the best mathematics student in Belgium. At the beginning he studied Civil Engineering and he worked in Egypt doing measurements at the main entrance of the pyramid of Cheops . Then he realized how great influence mathematics had on him and he decided to abandon engineering in order to study mathematics .

6. He worked as a professor at many universities worldwide
He worked as a professor at many universities worldwide. In 1919 he was appointed to organize the University of Smyrna and he became the Dean of the establishment until the closure of the University. .

7. Many years after his death his statue was placed at the center of Komotini and a museum honoring the great mathematician opened in The museum gave home to original manuscripts of the mathematician including his correspondence with other great mathematicians and scientists of his time, such as Rozenthal and Einstein

8. His contribution to mathematics is Known as ‘’Caratheodory theories and conjectures‘’.
He made significant contributions to the theory of functions of a real variable, the calculus of variations and measure theory. His work also includes important results in conformal representations and in the theory of boundary correspondence .

9. During one of his last public appearance Albert Einstein said:
‘’ You ask me a lot of questions, but no one has ever wanted to know who was my teacher , who showed me the way to the higher mathematical science, thought and research . I simply say that my teacher was the unrivalled Greek Constantin Caratheodory , to whom we owe everything …’’
