2. “What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?”
God is mindful of us (Psalms 8:4; 40:5; 106:4)
He condescends to care so much for us.
Our status in creation is ordained by Almighty God.

3. “What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?”
“When I Consider Your Heavens…”
God’s glory is above the heavens which He created (Psalm 8:1-4; 19:1)
Even so, we do not fully comprehend His greatness (Job 26:7-14; 37:5)
By His Word, He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things! (Heb. 11:3; 1:3; Psalm 33:8-9)

4. “What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?”
“You have made him a little lower than the angels”
We accept our place in creation because we are in awe of God’s wisdom and power (Rom. 9:20)
Becoming “a little lower than the angels” demonstrated both the humility and exaltation of Christ (Heb. 2:9; 1:3-4)
For the rest of humanity, it illustrates how special we are to God:
Angels are greater than us in power and might, but like us, they are servants (2 Peter 2:11; 2 Thess. 1:7; Psalms 103:20-21; 148:2-5)
They serve US on God’s behalf! (Heb. 1:14; Isaiah 63:9)

“You have made him a little lower than the angels”
God’s love for men can be seen through the activity of angels:
In the Old Testament:
Hagar (Gen. 16)
Elijah (1 Kings 19)
Delivering Israel from Bondage in Egypt (Acts 7:35)
Giving Israel the Law (Acts 7:53; Gal. 3:19)
Guiding Israel to the promised land (Exo. 23:20-23)
Raising Gideon to deliver Israel (Judges 6)
Delivering Denial (Daniel 6:22)

“You have made him a little lower than the angels”
God’s love for men can be seen through the activity of angels:
In the New Testament:
At the annunciation to Mary (Luke 1:26)
To the shepherds (Luke 2:9)
With Jesus after His temptation (Matt. 4:11)
With Jesus in the Garden (Luke 22:43)
Guiding God’s servants (Acts 8:26; 12:6-11; 27:23)
Revealing God’s will (Rev. 1:1; 21:9-10; 22:8)

7. “What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?”
“You have made him a little lower than the angels”
God’s love for men can be seen through the activity of angels:
Today:
They desire to look into our salvation (1 Peter 1:12)
They rejoice when we repent (Luke 15:10
They will gather us to our reward (Matt. 13:41-42; Luke 16:22)
They will return with Jesus (1 Thess. 4:16-17; Thess. 1:7-10)
They do not directly save men or tell the lost what to do to be saved (Acts 10:3-6; 11:13; 8:26; cf. Romans 10:13-15)

8. “What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?”
“You have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands”
God gave man dominion over His creation (Gen. 1:26)
Human life is special (Matt. 6:26)
We have “spirit” and “eternity” within us (John 4:24; Eccl. 3:11; Job 32:8)
We have been put here to come to know God and His nature (Acts 17:26-30)
In this way we gain eternal life! (John 17:3)
