Along with Billy Payne and Andrew Young, Jackson worked on the committee to bring the 1996 Olympics to GA.
In 2003, there were discussions about Jackson running for the US Senate, but his health would not allow that.
He dies the same year, and the airport was re-named Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in honor of his influence and impact.
