PAVA response rate in the O2 and N2O groups. The 50% effective dose (ED50) (95% CI) of alfentanil in the O2 and N2O groups was 11.4 (9.9–13.0) and 6.5 (5.0–8.1) µg kg−1, respectively. The ED95 (95% CI) of alfentanil estimated from the PAVA response rate in the O2 and N2O groups was 14.0 (12.1–15.9) and 10.7 (9.5–11.9) µg kg−1, respectively.
