1 1-25. Study the pattern of tiles for Tile Pattern I. With your team, complete Figure 4 on the resource page. Complete the table, graph, and equation for Tile Pattern I on the resource page. In the left column, describe how the number of tiles grows from figure to figure. Describe the graph of the function. Consider: What is the general shape of the graph? From left to right, is it increasing or decreasing? If you drew a line or curve through the points and extended the graph in both directions, what would the x- and y-intercepts be, if possible? Are there any values of x or y which are not possible in the function? Progress Chart

2 1.1.3 Multiple Representations of Functions
HW: 1-28 through 1-32 August 21, 2018

3 Objectives CO: SWBAT create multiple representations of four functions and examine the growth patterns and characteristics of the graphs of each. LO: SWBAT build their team collaboration skills.

4 y = 5x + 3 c. Adds 2 on the top & bottom and 1 on right for each figure (adding 5) d. Line, increasing, (0,3), no x-intercept because y would be negative, x & y cannot be negative because of the situation.

5 1-26. READ ROLES BEFORE BEGIN
Find Tile Patterns II, III, and IV on the Lesson 1.1.3A Resource Complete parts (a) through (d) below. Be prepared to present your work to your class. Put your pencils down. Quietly study the tile figures in Tile Pattern II. In your mind, think about how you would draw Figure 4 for Tile Pattern II. How would you draw Figure 0 for Tile Pattern II? For each function, complete the tile figures, table, and graph on your resource page. Describe how the number of tiles grows from figure to figure for each function. Describe the graph of the function. Consider: What is the general shape of the graph? From left to right, is it increasing or decreasing? If you drew a line or curve through the points and extended the graph in both directions, what would the x- and y-intercepts be? Are there any values of x or y which are not possible in the function? Go over about 15 mins before class ends
