1 SUBJECT-VERB AGREEMENT
The basic rule states that a singular subject takes a singular verb, while a plural subject takes a plural verb. NOTE: The trick is in knowing whether the subject is singular or plural. The next trick is recognizing a singular or plural verb.

2 Note: Verbs don’t form a plural by adding an s like nouns do
Note: Verbs don’t form a plural by adding an s like nouns do. (plural noun – dogs, plural verb – walk) Examples: The boy likes his hat. The girls like their presents. The book or the pen is in the drawer. A car and a bike are sitting in my garage. (*When two or more singular subjects are joined by and then use a plural verb*).
