7 WORKSHEET ON ACTS 22 PLACES: Damascus: A city in Syria, 135 miles NE of Jerusalem, to which Saul went to persecute Christians but was, instead, convicted of his sins by Jesus and became himself a Christian.

8 WORKSHEET ON ACTS 22 QUESTIONS: 1. Why would Paul refer to these Jews as “brethren”? They are his fellow countrymen and “fellow Jews.” 2. What does Paul call the speech he makes to them? This is his defense (verse 1). 3. What calmed the crowd as Paul began to speak? He spoke to them in their native language (verse 2).

9 WORKSHEET ON ACTS 22 QUESTIONS: 4. Why does Paul mention his birth, training, and his zeal for the Law to this group? He wants them to understand that he was just like them, yet found the truth (verse 3). 5. Summarize the means that Paul uses to get his audience to consider his defense. 22:1-5 He appeals to their zeal for the Law as he attempts to show them they need to have a zeal for the gospel.

Explain the events related by Paul that interrupted his trip to Damascus. A bright light shone on him, he fell to the ground, and Jesus gave him instructions to follow. 7. What qualification did Saul thus meet? 22:8; 1:8, 22; I Corinthians 9:1-2. He was now an eyewitness of the resurrected Messiah.

What did Paul explain concerning those with him? He said that they saw the light but didn’t hear the voice. a. How would you harmonize this statement with that of Luke in 9:7? Luke is showing that they didn’t understand the voice (the words were for Saul alone).
