3 Police Cases of JCLs should be referred to Juvenile welfare officer (JWO) Information to Probation officer Intimation to the parents about the apprehension of JICL Training of JWO about the provisions of JJ Act JWO should be child friendly The JWO should be in plain clothes Child should be either handed over to parent/ guardian or send them at Home (OH) or produced before the Board, as the case may be Time lines should be followed (Production, Age, SBR, PIR, etc) JICL shall not be handcuff or kept in lock up Responsibility of safety

4 Probation Officer S/he should be full time employee
Should be child friendly Make Reports (SIRs, ICP, Etc.) JICL is placed under supervision of PO for Bail, Final Order, Post release Encourage the JICL to participate in orientation, monitoring, education, vocational and rehabilitation programmes for JICL

to enquire into the circumstances or home surroundings of the JICL, and submit reports to assist the court in determining the most suitable method of dealing with the JICL Assist the JICL to Get enrolled in their studies, vocational training, etc advise and assist JICL who have been released on probation of good conduct Networking with DCPU in other State/ district

6 Juvenile Justice Board
Child Friendly interaction Adjudicate & dispose of cases of CCL Pass appropriate order for victim Compensation*** Monitor institutions for juvenile in conflict with law Take action if any police official do cruelty /maltreatment with the CCL Send quarterly information about pendency of cases before them.

7 JJB Contd…. pass directions to govt. and police to create or provide necessary infrastructure to meet minimum standard of justice and treatment Laisioning with CWC in respect of juvenile in need of care and protection pass orders to rehabilitation and in the best interest of child Send quarterly Information to CJM about pendency

8 Legal Aid Counsel Interact with the CCL and his family members at the time of his first production Represent the CCL in JJB proceedings LAC provided to all C CCLs free legal aid LAC should be child friendly Provide assistant to CCLs and inform the family about the proceedings and stage of case File Bail application instantly No CCL get unattended

9 Counselor Counselors should be attached to each Board to counsel the CCL and his family. Interact with CCL in depth To find out the circumstances under which CCL has come into this situation Tell about the future prospects Try to rehabilitate the CCL

10 NGO Establish CCI to provide care & protection to CCL/ CNCP as per JJ Act and govt. norms Provide vocational training Help DCPU/ PO to find out families of CNCP Provide Counselors Setting up mental health care unit

11 Family First institute for well being of child
Primary responsibility to give care, protection, education to child Family should monitor the child Parents should give some time to their child Should have the knowledge about the peer group of their child.

12 Welfare Officer at Home
Provides basic care and facilities in Home: Meals/ Diet/ clothing/ bedding/medical & mental Health care/ educational training/ vocational training Complete case file Production in JJB Conduct meeting of CCL with their parents in Home

13 Govt. Officials Arrange Funds for diet Money to victims, public witnesses and JICL Integration of family with social security schemes Admission in schools Make arrangement for production of CCL in Board Should open counseling center for children
