Internal Consultations Comments consolidated and produce the status report December 2011 3. Status Quo Report January 2012 4. First Discussion document Produced 8 February2012 Ongoing

Discussion Document Consolidating all comment s from Stakeholders WSA July to October 2012 7. Consultation with All Water Boards November to December 2012

4 ACTIVITY SUGGESTED TIMEFRAME STATUS 8. Consolidating all comment s from all Stakeholders and Draft Bill on Water Services Produced , to be amalgamated or merged with the National Water Act in order to have One Water Legislation for public consultation March and April 2013 Currently the status is the merging the Two acts i.e. Water Services and National Water Act in order to have one legislation . 9. Submission of the draft Water Act approval by Top Management and then to be submitted to the Chief State Law Advisor for consideration and certification Estimated time period August 2013

Submission of the draft Water Act approval by Top Management and then to be submitted to the Chief State Law Advisor for consideration and certification Estimated time period August 2013 12. Cabinet Submission Water Act Bill for approval to gazette and published for public consultation 2 Months -

Water Act referred to Portfolio Committee for deliberation Parliamentary Process 13. Water Act referred to Select Committee for deliberation 14. Water Act passed by National Assembly

7 ACTIVITY SUGGESTED TIMEFRAME STATUS 15. Water Act passed by National Council of Provinces Parliamentary Process 16. Water Act referred to President for Assent 17. Promulgation of Water Act Amendment Act (publication in the Government Gazette)
