Bingo Chapter 19

Rules of Game Select any 24 phrases from the board and place them anywhere on your squares. You can only place one phrase on each square. As each clue is read off, you must write the number of the question down next to the correct phrase on your bingo card. Note: You may or may not have the phrase written down depending on which 24 phrases you initially wrote. Once you have 5 phrases either in a row, column, or diagonally, announce “BINGO”. The teacher will check your numbers written on your card to see if you are correct. If a winner has been announced, that person will be ineligible for any additional prizes. Everyone else will continue playing without clearing their card until more winners are announced.

Questions

Question 1 This type of image forms where light rays actually meet.

Question 2 This includes the study of how mirrors and lenses form images.

Question 3 Emeralds have a lower ___________ than rubies which means that emeralds do not refract light as much as rubies do because light does not slow down as much when it enters the emerald.

Question 4 This is an instrument that uses lenses or mirrors to collect and focus light from distant objects.

Question 5 This is the angle of incidence that produces an angle of refraction of 90 degrees.

Question 6 This type of lens is curved outward at the center and is thinnest at the outer edges.

Question 7 This shows how rays change direction when they strike mirrors and pass through lenses.

Question 8 This mirror has a flat surface.

Question 9 A convex lens can form how many different types of images?

Question 10 When light enters a new medium, this change causes it to bend, or refract.

Question 11 This is an optical instrument that records a real image of an object.

Question 12 This angle is the angle formed as a light ray leaves a mirror.

Question 13 This is where all light rays meet at.

Question 14 This image forms where light rays appear to come from.

Question 15 When the inside surface of a curved mirror is the reflecting surface, the mirror is a _____________.

Question 16 This is the bending of a wave as it enters a new medium at an angle.

Question 17 This type of mirror can form images that are virtual when light rays diverge.

Question 18 This is a transparent material with one or two curved surfaces that can refract light.

Question 19 This type of lens causes light rays to diverge.

Question 20 This is the angle formed from the ray of light approaching the mirror.

Question 21 A convex mirror forms how many different types of images?

Question 22 This is an optical instrument that uses lenses to provide enlarged images of very small, near objects.

Question 23 This is the complete reflection of a light ray back into its original medium.

Question 24 This occurs when a wave encounters an object or opening that is close in size to its wavelength.

Question 25 This is the lowest point on a wave.

Question 26. There are two properties of a lens that affect the way it refracts light. One property is the curvature of the lens. What is the other property?

Question 27 Compared to other types of media, this medium slows down the speed of light only slightly.

Question 28 The first type of camera was a simple ____________ camera.

Question 29 What is the transparent outer layer of the eye called?

Question 30 This type of material transmits light.

Question 31 A copy of an object formed by reflected or refracted light waves is known as a(n) __________.

Question 32 When white light is separated into the colors of the rainbow, it is known as ______________.

Question 33 Red, green and blue are known as ____________ colors of light.

Question 34 The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection according to the law of ______________.

Question 35 If you can look through a material but what you see is not clear or distinct, then the material is said to be ____________.
