2 What License Do I Need Large Raffle License Total of all prizes awarded exceed $500 per drawing date License fee is $50 per drawing date Allows for the sale of Charity Game Tickets Small Raffle License Total of all prizes awarded are $500 or less per drawing date License fee is $15 for 1-3 drawings at the same location and $5 for each additional date at the same location Versus Small raffle is $5 for each additional drawing date that is part of that license Both allow for presale of tickets and or in house raffles. The license can be obtained up to 18 months in advance No limit on the number of raffle licenses per year

3 In House Raffles No Presale of tickets allowed
Roll tickets are allowed for in-house raffles All tickets are sold & all prizes are awarded during the license time If a winner cannot be located or does not claim the prize, another drawing must be conducted the same day of the event, using the original pool of tickets Do an example of an in house drawing at this time *Raffle drawings cannot be conducted during bingo

6 House Rules Need a license for that alternative date
Tell them list of house rules requirements on page 3 under house rules .

7 Deposits must be made within 2 business days of the drawing date
Deposits must be made into a bank account in the name of the organization Deposits are made separately from all other monies The account is set up to have check images on the statement or are printed at the end of each month Retain the verified deposit slip with the game records Deposits

8 Records Retain for 3 years + current year

Card Deck… Use security envelopes, seal & shuffle Number the envelopes Envelopes must be signed by at least 2 Chairpersons Envelopes must be placed in a locked display case *Any person who performs these tasks may not purchase raffle tickets for this event

13 PLAYING CARD PROGRESSIVE RAFFLE
*One ticket is drawn, envelope is opened to reveal playing card *If the winning playing card is selected, jackpot prize is paid by check *If jackpot is NOT won, playing card must be placed face up in display case *If the winning playing card is selected, jackpot prize is paid by check Attach deposit slip and ticket stub(s) drawn

14 Quartermania Raffles In house raffle
Player purchases a bidding number to be eligible to “bid” on raffle prizes Bidding number purchased corresponds with a number in a raffle receptacle used to draw A prize is presented and a player will choose to be entered into the drawing by raising their bidding number and paying the appropriate bid amount for that item Do an example of an in house drawing at this time

16 Exempt Raffles The following conditions must be met:
Must be held by a qualified organization An event with a specific beginning and ending time All tickets are sold, winners determined, and prizes awarded during the event time Prizes CANNOT exceed $100 in a 24 hour time period The purpose of the event cannot be to conduct a raffle Example fish fry 5-7pm at the American Legion hosted by American Legion with proceeds to benefit the American Legion. If it does not meet all these requirements it must have a license. This means an organization qualified by Charitable Gaming not just any non-profit.
