National Highway No. 5 is a freeway, which begins in Taipei City at Nangang JCT. on National Highway No. 3 and ends in Su-ao, Yilan . Although it was called the Beiyi Freeway (Chinese abbreviation for Taipei to Yilan) prior to its final completion in June 2006, the official name is the Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway, after the early twentieth century Taiwanese political activist and Yilan nativeChiang Wei-shui (蔣渭水, Japanese: Sho Isui).[1] Hsuehshan Tunnel km The longest road tunnel in Taiwan and the fifth longest road tunnel in the world.rld.

4 Jiaoxi hot springs Jiaoxi/ Chiaohsi (Chinese: 礁溪; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Ta-khoe) is a rural township in the northern part of Yilan County, Taiwan, famous for its hot springs. These attract large numbers of visitors so as the result, Jiaoxi has become a favorite weekend resort, featuring an array of hotels from the budget to the luxurious. There is also a few free public hot spots, mostly sheltered, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely foot bath at any time.
