3 Force is the push or pull that causes changes in movement.
What is force? Row 1, Col 1

4 The upward part of the force exerted by a fluid.
What is buoyancy? 1,2

5 Density is the mass of a substance per unit volume of the substance.
What is density? 1,3

6 How do you measure the volume of a small irregular solid?
By using the displacement. How do you measure the volume of a small irregular solid? 1,4

7 What is aerodynamic and hydrodynamic?
Aerodynamic = air or gas moving around a solid object. Hydrodynamic = liquids moving around a solid object. What is aerodynamic and hydrodynamic? 2,1

8 What is laminar and turbulent flow? 2,2
Laminar = flowing around an object in a straight flow. Turbulent = flowing around an object that is not straight. What is laminar and turbulent flow? 2,2

9 Calculate the density of a substance with a mass of 2400 g
D = mass / volume = 200 g/cm3 Calculate the density of a substance with a mass of 2400 g and a volume of 12 cm3. 2,3

10 The meniscus and you have to be level with it.
What do you look at to measure a liquid in a graduated cylinder? 2,4

11 What is Mass, Weight and Volume?.
Mass = the amount of matter in an object. Weight = the force of gravity pulling on the object. Volume = the amount of space occupied by matter. What is Mass, Weight and Volume?. 3,1

12 What is the definition of positive, neutral and negative
Positive is if object rises in a fluid. Neutral is if object remains level in a fluid. Negative is if object sinks. What is the definition of positive, neutral and negative buoyancy? 3,2

13 Calculate the volume of a Substance with a density of
V = mass / density = 30 m3 Calculate the volume of a Substance with a density of 5.0 g/m3 and a mass of 150 g. 3,3

14 Archimedes’ Principle?
The buoyant force on an object immersed in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid that the object displaces. What is the Archimedes’ Principle? 3,4

15 What is Dynamic, Flow rate, Drag and Streamlined?
Dynamic = systems that involve movement. Flow rate = how quickly a fluid flows in a given amount of time. Drag = resistance. Streamlined = it the shape that creates laminar flow. What is Dynamic, Flow rate, Drag and Streamlined? 4,1

16 What is Viscosity, Cohesion, Adhesion and Surface tension?
Viscosity = the resistance of a fluid to flowing and movement. Cohesion = the attractive forces among the particles. Adhesion = the attractive force between the particles of a fluid and the particles of another substance. Ex. Ketchup Surface Tension: the increased attraction among particles at the surface of a liquid. What is Viscosity, Cohesion, Adhesion and Surface tension? 4,2

17 How do you compare densities? How do you tell if a object will
You need to look at the densities of the substances. If a substance has a larger density it will sink and if it has a smaller density then it will float. How do you compare densities? How do you tell if a object will float or sink? 4,3

18 What are the main points of the Kinetic Molecular Theory?
Matter is made of tiny particles. There is empty space between particles. Particles are constantly moving. Energy makes particles move. What are the main points of the Kinetic Molecular Theory? 4,4

19 Name the three states and
Solid = wood, Liquid = water, Gas = carbon dioxide. Name the three states and give an example of each. 5,1

20 Name all of the changes of state.
Melting, evaporation, condensation, solidification, sublimation and deposition. Name all of the changes of state. 5,2

21 What are the equations for Density, Volume, Volume of
D = mass / volume V = length x width x height V of small =(volume of water + object) – volume of water Iceberg = density of ice / density of seawater What are the equations for Density, Volume, Volume of small irregular solid and Iceberg submerged? 5,3

22 Please draw the diagram that shows
On board! Please draw the diagram that shows all the states and changes of states in the Kinetic Molecular Theory. 5,4
