Gathers information from inside & outside of the body AND then directs your body to respond to the stimulus

3. 2. Sensory Organs
Organs that sense the environment: Tongue, eyes, skin, nose, and ears are these

4. 3. Sensory Receptors
Found within each organ are receptor cells that receive stimuli from the environment and turn them into electrical impulses

5. 4. Electrical Impulse
What you see, feel, hear, taste, and smell all get turned into this by the sensory receptors

6. 5. Electromagnetic stimuli
Stimuli that enters the eye as light

7. 6. chemical stimuli
Stimuli due to a molecule entering through the mouth for taste or nose for smell

8. 7. mechanical stimuli
Stimuli due to touching something and sound waves

9. 8. Brain
•Processes the electrical signals sent from each receptor and decides on how to respond to the stimuli
