8 EARTHQUAKE DANGER AT A LOCAL SCALE
The Wasatch Fault is the largest fault of its type in the world! (8A) Mountains in SLC are made by Block Faults Biggest Recorded Earthquake in Utah: 6.3 Magnitude The last earthquake which may have occurred on the Wasatch Fault is the magnitude 4.3 earthquake which occurred under Herriman, UT in (8A) Estimations based on Seismic Gap and Reoccurrence Intervals estimate that Utah will experience a magnitude 7.0 or bigger earthquake in the very near future! 8B

9 EARTHQUAKE PREPARATION
ANTICIPATORY RESPONSES: -Only build on land that has a well developed soil profile. -Do not build on clay! -Do not build near water- only more danger… -Keep a 72 Hour Kit in your car in case of emergencies. -Know the evacuation plan of your work place and home. -If evacuation is suggested, leave the area!!! -Educate yourself on first aid, in case of future injury. REACTIVE RESPONSES: -People tend to protect their own during a disaster, be respectful to authority but follow your instincts and protect yourself and family! -If injured, keep wounds or injuries clean to avoid infection, amputation or death. -Stay calm! Panicking might only cause more distress and damage.
