Fredrick Banting-A Canadian scientist who has taught at the University of Toronto and University of western Ontario. He was the first one to use insulin on Humans; he lost a good friend to diabetes at a young age so Fredrick and Charles created insulin togther.

This is a picture of a factory in which ford automobiles are assembled back in the 1920s. The ford automobiles were developed by the Ford motor company founded by Henry Ford. During that time before Henry ford created the ford automobiles, automobiles were very expensive and not a lot of people can afford it. Henry Ford was the first person to make a less expensive automobile that many middle class Canadians can afford. This gave an opportunity for most of the citizens to own an automobile and it had become a common thing among people. The Ford Model T which was the first automobile that had the steering wheel on the left was very successful and most people brought this model because it was very cheap and easy to drive.

7 Oct 29, WHY By: Linda Oct 29th October 29th 1929 was the worst day in stock market history. The Wall Street Crash of 1929 in the United States also referred to as “Black Tuesday” or the Stock Market Crash was the start of the ten-year great depression.  It began on October 24th it was called “Black Thursday”. It was the first day the stock market stared to show signs of crashing and within two days, October 28th and October 29th it completely collapsed. “Black Tuesday” ended the “roaring 20’s” which was a decade of diversity and new creations leading in the success of the stock market. t

8 Drought On The Praries “Dust Bowl”
Drought on the prairies “Dust Bowl”-The great America Desert, many new settlers have settled after the civil war. The Russian revolution made the agriculture prices high, which encouraged farmers to farm, but the dust storms and winter made it hard to farm. After the dust storm called “dirty thirties” many families have abandoned their farms.

9 Stroke Derby By: Linda Stork Derby: The Great Stork Derby was a contest during the period from 1926 to 1936, where women in Toronto, Canada, competed to produce the most babies. The race was the product of a scheme by Toronto lawyer, financier and practical joker Charles Vance Millar, who bequeathed the residue of his significant estate to the woman in Toronto who could produce the most children in a ten-year period after his death

10 Radio By: Prabhjot People back in the 1920s would gather around the radio when they heard the voice of a famous sportscaster Foster Hewitt. Canadian Radio began with the first license for private commercial radio stations in 1922 however by late 1920s many Canadian radio listeners were tuning to their daily American stations. In 1940 the national public broadcaster really takes off. On January, 1, 1941 CBC news service opens officially.

11 Planes There are a total of 22 aircraft from the in the Military Factory. Mostly airplanes were used through American no one took the seriously. Once the federal government came up with the idea of Air-Mail people started taking airplanes more seriously. Airplanes decreased the waiting time for mail from a few weeks to a few days.
