5 “Motion to open debate”
This is the first motion. This will happen once.

6 “Motion to open a speakers list”
Open a list for people to add on. People can add on whenever

7 Example Speakers list United Kingdom Belgium Argentina Denmark
Mauritania Tuvalu United States France

8 “Motion to set a speaking time for # minutes, with # guaranteed questions ”
*Generally anywhere from a 1 minute to 1.5 to speak ** Generally 2 questions

10 “I yield my time to..” The Chair- end speaking time, no more discussion Questions* Another delegate*: The remainder of your time goes to another person of your choice

12 Point of Inquiry After a speaker has talked for the set amount of time, people can ask questions Amount of questions should be established by this time Ask any question pertaining to what the speaker has said ex. How will this be accomplished? How will this be funded? Does this comply with UN laws?

13 Point of Order/ Point of Privilege
if a committee is getting too out of hand, you can call for a point of order to maintain decorum* Point of Privilege If there is any issue with you personally, ex. can’t hear, need to repeat, ex.. mention this motion.

15 “Motion for a Moderated Caucus”
Can motion for a Mod at any time

16 Moderated Caucus Formal short comments by multiple delegates/ Open for anyone to talk Set a time: generally 3-5 minutes Additional speaking time for people in specific, most likely 30 seconds Ex. “Motion to have a moderated Caucus for 5 minutes with a 30 second speaking time”

17 “Motion for an Unmoderated Caucus”
Generally not as favored as moderated caucuses

18 Unmoderated Caucus Anyone is free to get up and freely talk to other delegates within a set time. Use this time to: -Work on Resolutions* -Discuss with other delegates -Gather a group or bloc of people This motion is only set for a standard time, generally 3-5 minutes. Ex. “Motion to have an Unmoderated Caucus for 5 minutes.”
