1 Essential Question: Who am I?

2 Warm-up: How well do we know each other?
On the index card, write one little-known fact about yourself. It should be something that people could not know just by looking at you. Write your name very small on the front of the index card. You will have 3 minutes to complete the warm-up.

3 What does “identity” mean?
Identity is the answer to the question, “Who am I?” Your identity includes the way you see yourself, your values, where your family is from, etc. While parts of our identities may be the same, no two people have the exact same identity.

4 What is an identity chart?
Identity charts are a graphic tool that helps us consider the many factors that shape who we are as individuals and as communities. Sharing our own identity charts with our class can help us build relationships and breakdown stereotypes. For Ms. O’Riley’s identity chart, click here!
