2. Bringing the ball back into play after a behind
Player has to start with both feet in goal square
Player can run out of the goal square or kick the ball only after a goal umpires signal
Only after a play on call by the umpire, the player can then handball out of the square
If a player changes direction/fakes in goal square prior to being called to play on, it is not considered play on.

3. Bringing the ball back into play after a behind
All players must make every effort to make their way outside of protected area which is an area 19.2m x19m
“in the act of bringing the football into play after a behind has been scored, Kicks the football over the boundary line without the football first being touched by another player” Umpire to only pay free kick if a player doesn’t demonstrate sufficient intent to keep the ball in Or
AFL Barwon Last Possession rule is in that particular grade.
If a free kick is awarded for a breach of play prior to the kick out, and the free kick occurs within 50m of the kick out, the mark shall be advanced from the man on the mark

Set Kick within 9m to be brought back to the 9m mark
All set kicks that occur within the extension of the kick off line, are to be brought back to the kick off line and its extension to the fence
Normal man on the mark rules apply

Player allowed to play on at any stage
No player is allowed to man the mark if they are behind the player with the ball, unless they clear the protected area to do so
Second 50m penalty to be applied
Player taking the mark must do so in a manner and without interfering with the player with the ball

If a play sets up behind an umpire and does not move when asked, a free kick can be paid under “intentionally or carelessly engages in conduct which affects, interferes with or prevents an umpire from performing their duties”

Post siren a player can be initially set up off his line in order to kick the ball over his correct line of kick

Continue to pay free kicks for push in the back when warranted

Taking possession of the ball out of the ruck is not considered prior opportunity.
