Western blotting analysis of purified cytoplasmic membranes. Cells overexpressing GFP fusion proteins and control cells were cultured, and cytoplasmic membranes were isolated as described under “Experimental Procedures.” Cytoplasmic membranes were separated by means of SDS-PAGE and subsequently subjected to Western blotting analysis with antibodies to SecY, SecE, SecG, L5, DnaK, FtsH, and HtpX.
