These are benefits that all people (or all people within a group) are eligible for NHS Child Benefit Winter Fuel Allowance These are benefits that are dependent on how much money you earn or have EMA Free prescriptions

The two main political parties have traditionally had very different views on the role of the welfare state. What are the two main political parties? Labour and Conservative

Conservative party view The benefits system lets people choose a life on benefit rather than work – creation of a dependency culture and deliberate avoidance of work This is a waste of the country’s resources and leads to low aspirations Cut benefits for those who will not seek employment

9 Big Society David Cameron wants the state to play less of a role in welfare and more individuals, charities and private groups should play a bigger role.
