1 What Time Is It? Introduction:
“What time is it?” can be a simple question pertaining to the position of the earth to the sun. It can also pertain to man’s spiritual position and relationship. Introduction: “What time is it?” is one of the most frequently asked questions in the “passing of the day.” On the surface, it would appear simple, but when biblically examined, it can be educational and seriously consequential. Point out with graphic two how we are all “controlled” by time and constantly need to know the time.

2 The time of trouble (Ps. 27: 4-6, Jere. 2: 27, 28).
What Time Is It? Application The time of trouble (Ps. 27: 4-6, Jere. 2: 27, 28). “Time of trouble” is an interesting expression. It identifies a period characterized by special challenge and difficulty. Accompanying greatness is often the matter of enemies and David certain had enemies (Ps. 27: 1-3; 18: 1-3). David also loved and found special peace and comfort in the house of God (Ps. 27: 4-6, 26: 8). How much more shall the child of God in this final dispensation, the one to which all others pointed, find peace in the presence of God.

3 The acceptable time (Isa. 49: 8, cp. 2 Cor. 6: 1, 2,).
What Time Is It? Application The acceptable time (Isa. 49: 8, cp. 2 Cor. 6: 1, 2,). Point out how the New Testament emphasizes “today” and how repeated rejection can result in a hardened heart.

4 The time I was afraid (Ps. 56: 1-6, 2 Tim. 1: 7).
What Time Is It? Application The time I was afraid (Ps. 56: 1-6, 2 Tim. 1: 7). Some scholars believe that David’s statements regarding the time he was afraid pertain to a time when David was literally captured by his enemies, perhaps the Philistines. The Hebrew, “Time I was afraid” is literally rendered, “The day when I was afraid.”

5 The time past (Acts 14: 16, cp. 17: 30, 31).
What Time Is It? Application The time past (Acts 14: 16, cp. 17: 30, 31). Acts 14: 16 is referring to a time in the past when God made certain allowances regarding the Gentile world due to ignorance. History in general is a great teacher (cp. I Cor. 10: 1-12).

6 The time of temptation (Luke 8: 13).
What Time Is It? Application The time of temptation (Luke 8: 13). Temptation happens to all (I Cor. 10: 13). The same statement that declares the universality of temptation also states that man can avoid it with God’s help. We need to be aware of circumstances offering temptation and avoid the sin (Prov. 22: 3, cp. Gal. 2: 11, 12).

7 The matter of high time (Rom. 13: 11-14).
What Time Is It? Application The matter of high time (Rom. 13: 11-14). The expression “high time” (KJV) conveys the idea that the time is now. Hence, current circumstances call upon present action. Too many are in a state of spiritual apathy (Rev. 3: 15).

8 The fullness of time (Gal. 4: 4, Dan. 2: 44, Matt. 3: 1).
What Time Is It? Application The fullness of time (Gal. 4: 4, Dan. 2: 44, Matt. 3: 1). Eschatology or matters involving time and/or a time line is certainly a biblical theme. However, the doctrine of Premillennialism has taken a biblical truth and twisted it into the promotion of a totally false system of doctrines and false hopes.

9 What Time Is It? Conclusion:
The scriptures also speak of “…the times of refreshing” (Acts 3: 19). Are you experiencing salvation? If not, your time could be running out! Believe (John 8: 24). Repent (Acts 17: 30, 31). Confess (Rom. 10: 9, 10). Be baptized (Acts 2: 38). Conclusion: Use the parallel verse to comment on Acts 3: 19 (Acts 2: 38). The final “click” again introduces the clock, stress the passing and forfeiting of time!
